About Me
This blog is for me to start documenting my lifelong learning journey. As a cybersecurity professional, the learning never ends and I have a reached a point in my career where I want to share what I have learned and maybe, just maybe, encourage someone else to join the fight. My current journey is in the pursuit of Offensive Security's OSCP certification.
With a strong foundation in cybersecurity and risk management, I have dedicated my career to securing mission-critical systems. My expertise spans vulnerability management, risk assessments, and compliance with security frameworks like RMF and NIST SP 800-53. Through hands-on experience with tools such as ACAS Security Center, Nessus, and Splunk, I have conducted in-depth security analyses, identified vulnerabilities, and implemented mitigation strategies to enhance organizational security posture. I take pride in leading cybersecurity initiatives, developing policies, and ensuring compliance across interconnected systems.
My academic journey reflects my commitment to continuous learning. I hold a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University, alongside an ongoing Master of Science in Computer Science with a Cyber Operations Specialization from Dakota State University, expected in 2026. Additionally, my professional certifications, including CISSP, CEH, GCIH, CAP, and SSCP, highlight my proficiency in security operations, risk management, and incident response. These credentials, combined with real-world experience, enable me to provide strategic guidance on security policies, oversee security teams, and conduct high-impact risk assessments for federal agencies.
Beyond technical expertise, I have a passion for mentorship and collaboration. I have led training programs for geographically dispersed cybersecurity professionals, improving operational efficiency and strengthening cyber defense capabilities. My experience advising junior analysts and supervising ISSOs ensures that best practices in security compliance and risk evaluation are consistently upheld. Additionally, my contributions to documentation, including SOPs, TTPs, and white papers, have provided organizations with structured and actionable cybersecurity frameworks.
